The
Cure
(:60)
Dr.
Bock: Go
ahead and lie down on the couch, Mr. Fogel.
Last week we were discussing your problems with money, your
miserable social life and your complete lack of self-esteem.
Fogel:
I think I’m better, Doc.
Dr.
Bock: Beg
pardon?
Fogel:
I’m feeling a lot better, so if you don’t mind, I’d
like to pay my bill so I can go meet my date.
Change for a hundred?
Dr.
Bock: Come
Mr Fogel, problems that have persisted as long as yours don’t
just clear up overnight.
Fogel:
That’s what I thought, too, Doc.
But then I joined this credit union and well, I’m feeling
pretty good.
Dr.
Bock: You
were cured by a credit union?!
Fogel:
Well, but it sure seemed to help. You know what a credit
union is, don’t you Doc?
Dr.
Bock: Uh,
no.
Fogel:
It’s a financial cooperative, Doc.
The profits of the organization come back to me in the form
of fewer fees, better service, lower rates on loans.
Dr.
Bock: And
this cured you . . . how?
Fogel:
Money, doc. I
saved money. Plus it feels darn good to be a member of something.
I got my confidence back.
I even got up the courage to ask out Sheila.
Dr.
Bock: And
she said yes I presume.
Fogel:
No, she tried to mace me, so I asked out Rhonda instead.
Well doc, I gotta go.
Rhonda’s waiting for me in my new car.
Dr.
Bock: Credit
union again?
Fogel:
Great rates on car loans.
[jingle]
Dr.
Bock: Fogel,
this information, it’s . . . all so . . . overwhelming.
I don’t know what to make of it.
Fogel:
Doc, you look a little faint.
Why don’t you lie down on the couch and tell me about it.
