As a classically trained director of theater and opera, I'm often
asked why I gravitated toward a career in advertising and public relations.
For me, it's a natural fit.
Whether I'm directing a Shakespearean comedy, staging an
experimental
opera, writing a B2B direct response campaign, producing a
promotional video, or pitching a client's story to the media—it's
all about grabbing the audience's attention and following through with a well-told story.
It's about matching message to audience, knowing what form of
presentation will most effectively engage, and choosing images and
language that surprise and intrigue.
And it's about making sure that when the
curtain goes up, the show is ready to go—on time and
within budget.
